The Ultimate Gift Guide for Gardeners
Shopping for the garden is the natural thing to do for us gardeners in the depths of winter. It’s both a consolation prize after the garden senesces and a joy in itself. Holiday shopping, however, can be a source of stress and anxiety. But I’m here to the rescue like a D-tier Marvel superhero, at least as far as shopping for the gardeners in your life, or in case you need to send that letter to the North Pole, telling Santa how good you’ve been all year and what you’d like him to slip under the tree. And no judgment from me if you want to treat yourself, no holiday required.

Labeling fun — yes, a whole section devoted to plant labels
Label your garden plants in style and never lose track of the hosta and rose varieties in your garden again. It takes sturdy, long labels that go deep into the ground to withstand attacks by curious birds and villainous squirrels, as well as winter freeze-thaw cycles. You’ll also need to use a paint marker that won’t fade in the sun or dissolve in water. Use black labels with a white paint marker for that botanical garden vibe. Or give (yourself) the ultimate luxury of a label maker that prints and cuts labels in batches. You’ll thank yourself in the spring when you start your usual 2000 seeds.
